Mango Bay Resort, Fiji Islands
Mango Bay Resort presents a unique backpacker’s accommodation situated within a secluded locale, nestled along the central coast amidst picturesque highlands. The project brief emphasized the need for high-density living tailored to the backpacking demographic, while also accommodating the client’s desire for a boutique experience with private villa options. Despite challenges posed by the remote location, which limited access to amenities, innovative solutions were devised to ensure self-sustainability. This included rainwater harvesting, natural ventilation, and the utilization of thatch roofs for cooling. Project done by Peter Rankin whilst at Architects Pacific Design Partnership.
