The architectural design for the Fiji School Recovery Program spans across 9 schools nestled in Vanua Levu, Fiji. The $14 million project crafted with resilience in mind, each structure is meticulously engineered to withstand Category 5 tropical cyclones, ensuring the safety of its occupants during extreme weather events. Embracing a holistic approach, the design integrates facilities for early childhood education (ECE), staff accommodations, dormitories, classrooms, administrative blocks, a dining halls, and toilet blocks, catering to the diverse needs of the educational community. Inclusivity is paramount, with provisions made for disability compliance to ensure accessibility for all. In a beautiful display of community collaboration, the women of the region have been commissioned to weave intricate mats for the ceilings, infusing each space with local craftsmanship and cultural significance.
